Cushioning the Effects of Subsidy Removal

We all agree that Subsidy Removal is the way to go but just like PMB, PBAT is learning the hard way that one must be ready and prepared before making any official or unofficial announcement .
It seems PBAT is unprepared however the Subsidy Removal did not start with him.

To cushion the negative effect of the Subsidy Removal, PBAT needs to :

1. Study and analyse what fellow African countries have done to cushion the effect and consider way and manner of implementation. Angola did announce subsidy Removal after Nigeria but back it up with cushioning laid over transportation cost especially
2. Just like the NLC is demanding the landing cost of PMS, PBAT needs to have independent review of the PMS landing cost and not just
take NNPC cost advice for it.
3. Just like Lagos has done, and Lagos needs to do more, other states must roll out more government buses to transport people from one point to another while retaining pre-subsidy removal prices.
4. By removing subsidy, FG will be saving N4T to N7T. FG could use this savings and either double or triple worker's salary. Note that the way it is now, cost of PMS has been increased by over 300%. If N1T out of the N7T savings is dedicated to this, it would worth it and benefit the masses.
5. Another, is the provision of delivery trucks by Government to help with delivery of goods and food items especially. If the current price is retained while such policy or directive as this, the cost of food items would escalate leading to severe losses. By providing Govt sponsored trucks for food delivery, from North to South and vice versa, the hardship would be unbearable.
6. One other thing FG needs to do is to hold NLC accountable for past disbursements to cushion subsidy Removal embarked upon by President Good luck Jonathan. Hundreds of busses were procured then and these buses are  wearing out in NLC offices in Lagos and other states. These buses should be deployed for the use of the masses now.

7. Routes where Govt buses are not available, both State and Federal governments should incentivise the transporters in those areas with grants and other palliatives until govt buses are provided while the transporters retain pre-subsidy removal prices. Each states must maintain and deploy a transport system that would uniquely identify all players in the transport sector of such states for grants and palliative disbursement. Disbursement should not be done through politicians but through Govt agencies.
8.PBAT has announced that the era of double taxation is going, corporate that would have to pay higher salaries as a result of the Subsidy Removal and would have to incur higher expenses on power should be given tax break or tax reduction to bear this increased cost.
These are sterling ways to cushion the effect of subsidy Removal and ensure people are happy. What do you think?
